Web design continues to dramatically change – particularly with the rise of responsive (mobile-friendly) design, which allows websites to be viewed on a variety of devices (tablets and smartphones) and platforms. Accordingly, synagogue website designs have also changed from narrow widths and more text to full-width, large & dynamic photos, flat colors, clear calls-to-action, etc.
To produce this list, we checked out over 600 Conservative synagogue websites. After much deliberation and discussion, we were able to narrow them down to 22 truly modern and outstanding synagogue websites.
(As an aside, it’s somewhat disappointing that so many synagogues continue to have a very outdated website. So many of them are missing many of the 18 successful elements of synagogue websites, let alone using a content management system such as WordPress, or giving people the ability to make online donations, or are still using event flyers when they shouldn’t be).
Note: All websites are listed alphabetically by state. Websites designed by Addicott Web (and there are 5 of them in this list) are indicated by an asterisk (*).
